"Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad." - Anne Geddes
I was baffled by an idea that a father is different than a dad. For me, both words are the same. I guess people wanted to make a distinction between the two words so as to make a point what a father or a dad ought to be.
Growing up, I have called my father a Dad not knowing that one day I will find out that I truly have a Dad and not a father. Searching through the internet, I found out that the difference in both words is the created social definition. A father is considered a biological term than a role or relationship. Therefore, in my opinion the words should not be interchangeably used as they are not basically the same thing.
There is a saying: "Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad." Which are you or which do you have in your life - a dad or a father?
